When we talk about meeting with an accountant, most people tend to imagine just one person, or possibly one accounting firm. What if your accountant could be teams of individuals and firms – each with different skills, locations, and availability at varying hours?
That’s the question Accru posed when devising its strategy to put entire teams of accountants at its clients’ disposal.
“Across the Accru group we seek to match clients to our key professionals but more importantly we seek to provide a team for each client which will ensure multiple points of contact and an ability to service client needs effectively in every scenario,” said Tim Lane, Chairman of the Accru group in Australia.
The strategy has paid dividends because Accru was recently named winner of not one but four Client Choice Awards in 2022. The firm claimed the titles of Best Accounting & Consulting Services Firm ($30-$50m revenue), Best Professional Services Firm ($30m-$50m revenue), Best CX Firm: Accounting & Consulting Services and Most Innovative Accounting & Consulting Services Firm.
“The Accru group was very pleased to be recognised as high levels of Client Service are a key goal of the group,” said Mr Lane.
The Client Choice Awards celebrate the best professional services firms in Australia and New Zealand across four categories of accounting and consulting services, built and natural environment consulting, law and related services, and specialist IP and related services. In 2022, more than 250 firms entered the awards, and the winners were determined from more than 15,000 individual pieces of client feedback submitted to beaton.
Mr Lane said winning four awards in such a competitive year was a testament to the firm’s unique strategy – and provided evidence it was paying off.
“The Client Choice Awards are an important recognition of our relationship with our clients. They provide social proof that what we articulate in client service is a reality from a day-to-day perspective,” he said.
Accru is an Australian network of more than 200 accounting professionals and support staff across six offices in Australia. Its website calls the group a “network of independently owned accounting firms” – big enough to have a broad base of experience and knowledge in tough financial or business situations, yet “small enough to work with you on a personal basis”.
Mr Lane said the Client Choice Award wins gave the firm confidence to continue offering its unique big-firm service with small-firm personality.
“Accru will be looking to build on its current success and continue to promote client service as a key differentiator for the group. Philosophically this is built around developing our people and our relationships based on a long-term view of the world,” he said.
Accru was named Best Accounting & Consulting Services Firm ($30-$50m revenue), Best Professional Services Firm ($30m-$50m revenue), Best CX Firm: Accounting & Consulting Services and Most Innovative Accounting & Consulting Services Firm in the 2022 Client Choice Awards. These awards are presented in partnership with FeeSynergy and the State Government of Victoria.
The Client Choice Awards rewards firms for excellent client service, technical expertise, innovation and client experience. It is the only multi-profession and fully client-judged awards anywhere in the world. The Principal Partner of the Awards is NAB.
