The best buildings have a strong core. Scratch beneath the surface and you’ll find the best consulting firms in built and natural environment consulting are not entirely different.
Jonathan Powell, National Manager of Clients and Strategy at global firm SMEC, said people were fundamentally the core of his firm’s success in the recent Client Choice Awards.
The firm proudly took home two awards in the categories of the Best Built & Natural Environment Consulting Firm (greater than $200m revenue) and the overall Best Professional Services Firm (greater than $200m revenue).
“Our people are the core to our success – the credit lies wholly with each and every SMEC team member,” Mr Powell said.
“Over the last 18 months, we have focused on continuing to deliver exceptional outcomes on projects with a strong focus on communication and responsiveness; for our clients and partners, and also internally in our delivery teams.”
The annual Client Choice Awards attract more than 250 entries from Australian and New Zealand firms, recognising best practice in professional services across four categories of accounting and consulting, built and natural environment consulting, legal, and specialist IP services. They differ to other professional services awards in that winners are chosen by clients – through careful analysis and benchmarking of more than 15,000 individual pieces of client feedback.
Mr Powell said his team was “excited and tremendously proud” to win two categories in the awards.
